Proposed By-Laws
Bylaws Meeting Update
Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the recent bylaws meeting. We appreciate your time, input, and commitment to the center.
At the meeting, membership voted on the proposed bylaws. The outcome of the vote was:
- 14 in favor
- 23 opposed
Because the vote did not pass, the proposed bylaws will not be adopted at this time.
Member Feedback
During the discussion, two primary areas of concern were raised by members:
- Article III, Section 3 – Terms of Office
Members expressed a preference for limiting board service to two elected terms, followed by a one-year break before being eligible again. - Article III, Section 10 – Waiver of Notice
Members requested that the word “written” be added, reflecting a preference for written notice rather than verbal communication.
What Happens Next
The Board of Directors will review this feedback at the May board meeting. If the board agrees to revise the bylaws based on member input, an updated version will be presented for another vote by the membership at a future date.
We will continue to keep you informed as this process moves forward.
Thank you again for being involved and helping shape the future of the Onion Creek Senior Center.
