Activities & Events

Onion Creek Senior Center offers a variety of activities and programs for its members and the community. These activities and programs focus on the unique needs of seniors.


Returning OCSC: Covered Dish Social
This group meets once a month. This month they will be meeting on January 21 at 6:00p.
Bring a dish and make new friends. All are welcome!

Covid-19 Precautions

Coming together again will require some new rules that we will ask that you abide by so we can keep everyone safe at OCSC:
MOVING FORWARD- OCSC is opening more classes monthly for group activities. In order to attend any activity, a COVID-19 Event Waiver of Liability (attached below) must be signed and returned to our office by mail or hand delivered when attending events.

Mask are optional!

- If you have not been vaccinated please wear a mask & protect others
- Must have a signed Waiver on file in office
- You are welcome to bring your own drink
- Please clean all surfaces used
- Please return tables & chairs back where you found them
- Please wash your hands often & use hand sanitizers
- If someone in your household is infected, please stay home!
With your help, we will be able to add more activities in the coming months. We do encourage all members to get the two vaccinations.

Arts & Crafts

The Buda Bee Club (Quilting)
1st Tuesday of the month, 10:00a - 12:30p (Business Meeting)
2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month, 10:00a - 5:00p (Open Sew)
3rd & 5th Tuesday of the month 10:00a - 12:30p (Open Sew & Projects) 

Sassy Senior Stampers Class
1st, 3rd & 5th Tuesdays, 1:00p
*Cost is $5.00 for all participants (Free, if cards are donated to OCSC) bring a covered dish to share. Required Materials: scissors, double sided tape or glue.

Health & Wellness

It's important to keep your health in check. These specific classes and programs are setup specifically towards Senior Health. Somes may require a class fee and/or exercise equipment.

Blood Pressure & Glucose Checks

Exercise Classes (Silver Sneakers based classes)
- Circuit/Interval: Mondays, 9:30a-10:30a
- Boom Move: Wednesdays, 9:30a-10:00
- Boom Muscle: Wednesdays, 10:10a-10:40 
- Strength & Balance: Fridays, 9:30a - 10:30a

(Bring your own personal equipment to class: Hand weights, exercise band, small exercise ball) 
* Silver Sneaker Members & OCSC members: no class fee
* Non-Members: 2 free trail classes, $3.00 class fee for each class attended after trial period

Tai Chi Class 

TOPS Meeting
Tuesdays, starting at 10:00a-11:30a
TOPS stands for: Take Off Pounds Sensibly.
First meeting is free! Low cost support group.

Chair Yoga
Fridays, 10:45a - 12:00p
Class include breathing exercises, warm up stretches, standing poses, balance core work, stretching, and twist restorative poses. Gentle yoga & releasing stress are emphasized.

Fun & Games
It's all about Fun and Games in this section! Enjoy fellowship, while challenging your mind.

Onion Creek Senior Center knows the importance of coming together for support. We have set up an environment where our members and community feel safe and welcomed in support & discussion groups.

Caregiver Support Group [Buda & South Austin]
3rd Tuesday, 12:00p - 1:30p 
Sponsored by AGE of Central Texas
~ Open to the public and not disease specific
~ Goal: Everyone will have an opportunity to share their journey, and connect with other caregivers
